DJ.SkagNetti to crowd: "Who wants a Body Massage?"

or..  'you like me!  you really like me!'

I just want to say thanks for all the new friend requests I've received on myspace.  Thanks.  There I've said it.  O, and I really like the new little mini comments you can send with the request.  It's pretty cool.

In other news, In Your Face Kari!  Also, thanks for giving me the flu =P!  I haven't been sick in 3 years, it was the worst 24 hours of my life!

I watched Juno, because Diablo Cody is cute and I've been following her career ever since she wrote a book about the strip club we both worked at.  She was before my time, I never met her, but I heard she was pretty funny.  Anyways I swear that movie is about a girl I know named Lolly, who's currently 19.  Here's the cold hard facts:  1)  It takes place in Minnesota, 2) Both were pregnant at the age of 16, 3)  The girl in the movie talks EXACTLY like her.  The same kind of sarcastic wry wit, rough and tumble I'm one of the guys now but at the same time delicate and kinda sad inside kind of ways about them.  They moved the same, talked the same way, about the same things, liked music, except instead of the Stooges it was the Beatles for Lolly, even at the end where they were singing, the girl even sang like Lolly.  strange

Anyways the movie was pretty good.  I didn't like the music, the kind of folky softly sing-speak as many words as I possibly can in a line in a verse kind of music.  This kind of music makes me want to fall asleep, just so I don't have to listen to it anymore.  Also, some critics compared it to Little Miss Sunshine, where the little girl was way too smart for just being a little girl.  I could see the similarities.

I also forgot to mention before that I started another band with another guy who's named Vosa.  We called it Agent Empire.  I make kind of strange music, and he sings all soul-like over it.  Things have been working out really good with it.  Please check it out, click the pic on the left.

Edit 2013:  This link used to go to the AE myspace page, and, now that I have a page on this site specifically for AE, I have redirected it there.  You can still get to the myspace page from that page.

Yah so I've watched a lot of movies recently, catching up on a bunch of old ones I missed on dvd or in theaters.

Man that Jackie Chan sure can move!

Loose Change is a great movie.

Apocalypto - crazy weird, but awesome

Blood Diamond - my new most favoritist movie i do believe

Tenacious D The Pick of Destiny was pretty good!  I love the little fat kid in the beginning who was supposed to be Jack Black, he did an awesome job.

Silent Hill was pretty crazy

National Treasure Book of Secrets was ok, not as good as the first.  Nicholas Cage's girlfriend in the movie looks exactly like a Russian stripper I used to work with.  Absolutely gorgeous.

Hey even Spiderman 3 was pretty good!

And I saw an old favorite, the 2004 Dawn of the Dead, again.  I love that movie, perfect beginning, perfect setup, that movie is probably as close to perfection in a zombie flick as you can get.  Suspense, Thrills, Gotchas!, Sadness, Loss, Despair, Zombie Babies.  That end of the world type shit really gets me.  Probably because the real end of the world is nigh, and we can all feel it.

The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift - meh....

The Italian Job - meh....

The Transporter 2 - meh....

Malibu's Most Wanted - fucking terrible, but super hot black girl

I did see Cloverfield in the theaters, that was a pretty facking good movie.  I loved Blair Witch, I saw it a year after it came out and all the controversy blah blah blah it's fake, so I knew it was fake n all when I saw it in the cheapster theater in St. Cloud with damon and ethan.  It still scared the shit out of me.  Cloverfield - not as scary, but sure was awesome, the whole time you were like wtf is going on, wtf is going to happen next?  Most movies don't make you feel like that anymore.

I know a guy who works for this place, and he got me a 2.1 EXO Blue Sky monitor set for like a 3rd of the price.  I fucking love them!  Crystal clear, and bad ass looking, the sub shakes the apartment building.  No more fucked up levels.  It rules for watching movies too.

My fan makes a weird noise when I start it up, like EEEEErrrEEEEerrrrEEEEERrrrrrEEEEEEE then it runs fine for a bit then it makes that horrible noise again, this lasts for about 4 or 5 minutes until it gets up the ambition to actually work well.  It sounds like I'm slowly sticking needles into a guinea pig.  I started it up at like 4 in the morning last night, I bet all the neighbors were like, 'WTF!?  It sounds like some horrible ghost child who was murdered, wailing in the night!'

Anyways, later!

DJ.SkagNetti's poem didn't get accepted!

or..  Quoth the Raven, "You're a whore!!"

I was playing Second Life for a minute, and to get free money in the 'game' you can fill out these surveys, and one of them was to enter into this poetry contest.  So I wrote up a quick poem off the top of my head, just to get it finished.  I wish I remember what I wrote, but it was entitled, "How to Kill Everyone."  rofl!  Unfortunately it didn't get accepted - my life will never be the same.....

Here's the rejection letter:

DJ.SkagNetti did stuff!

or..  finally!!

I have been busy making music n stuff.  I played 2 shows.

One at Club Underground Saturday Jan 05, 2008, which I got a ride with Dustin Duffy (who's awesome.)  I played first, the other bands that played were Rockula, Pyro Plastic Flow, Mac Spillz, Concentr8 and Rek the Heavyweight.  There were also DJ sets in between bands by JSL (JSL was also the one who hooked me up with the show - thanks!)  It was a great show, that's the flyer to it on the left.  JSL was taking pictures during it, hopefully I can get a copy and post em up here soon.

The other one was at The Terminal Bar on Jan 12th, 2008, and I played with Primadonahue, Kontrol Panel, and Brightness Falls.  Thanks to Barry for bringing me all across town, that was really cool of you man!  And also to Primadonahue for getting me the gig and giving me a ride home (man, I'm pathetic.)  The bands were really great, and Elena the Russian sound girl was fun to talk to, when I could understand her (heh, sorry Elena.)  The drunk 43 year old astrologer was fun to talk to as well.  And I hope the neuroscience guy made it to his convention the next day at the IDS tower (it was a weird night....)

Besides that I've been meaning to go to the Tea Garden like my friend Damon (who just got engaged, congratz!!) told me to, and making music for my friend Vosa to add guitar or whatever else he wants to it, my first collaborative effort, besides the song I worked on like for 5 minutes with MRH88, I guess that could be considered collaborative, but I didn't provide much.  I got so much crap I may release another album right after Traitor of the 9 Moons, I'd like to call it [Please Insert Me], because I think that's fun to say.

I read this article on people getting busted by undercover prostitution stings, not on the streets like you would think, but on Craigslist.  I thought it was such a funny concept that I thought I'd google it and see if there was stuff like that on the Minneapolis Craigslist.  I never got that far - I found this site where this guy totally goes off on this rant about it, and all these people totally massacre him in the comments about it.

I thought i'd take a snapshot and show you the funniest one.  Click this pic to the left to see it - it's 10.2.  Fucking hilarious.  here's the original post of it.

So far the next show I'm playing is Feb 15th at the Hexagon.  I think I'm playing first.  Hopefully I'll get a few other shows before then.  If you want to help get me a gig, please contact me on myspace or by email!  I would really appreciate it!!

thx everyone!  time to go play some more diablo 2 (i just got it, never had it before, tho i always wanted to play it, and now that i am playing it, i wished i had got it when it was still big)  o well.  anything to keep me away from anarchy online.

DJ.SkagNetti is dreaming of a white Christmas for you

or..  happpy holidayzzzzzz!

I have to work both days this Christmas.  I guess it's my fault, didn't put in notice that I wanted a day off in time.  Which is worse - not having anyone to spend the holdiays with, or actually spending the holidays with family?  Should I really be complaining?  I love em and all, but you know those jokes everyone has about 'O gawd i gotta go do my time with my family in my hometown' and they seem like they are in agony.  They say those jokes cause it's true!! rofl

Ah well, I still miss em all, and hope they are doing fine.

Well I finished the album in time, now my mastering genius friend Dustin Duffy is gonna take a look at it.

I checked my Quicklist page to find something, and it looks like yahoo shut down webjay.org, so my entire playlist was deleted.  Man yahoo really has it out for me.  They deleted my username I had since 1997 last year without reason, and now this.  How much more can they suck?

Well I found a better playlist thingy anyways on Project Playlist, and I updated the old list.  If you have one, please add my tracks!  I will love you till the end of time.

Quicklist I - Free Albums  [[]]  Quicklist II - Other Stuff

DJ.SkagNetti is back on top again!

or..  happiness is a warm gun

So I moved to Emmerson, about 12 blocks away from where I used to live.  It's an apartment, it's very nice.  I'm glad I live here now, even though everything is smaller, at least I don't have to pay heat.

I moved in with an Ethiopian girl who's very nice.  She's probably one of the nicest people I know, fun to talk to, and has great stories.

I recorded a song called "Chasing the Ghost" on my birthday (Saturday Dec 8th).  It's a very fast rock like song, with kind of a "Jesus Built My Hotrod" feel to it.  You can hear it on my MySpace profile.

It's funny, I had this song since probably last year or early 2007, just sitting in a folder.  I'd pull it out every couple of months and hum along with it, like pseudo-words to get a feel for what words will fit and how I wanted to sing it.  Then I'd get fed up and throw it back in the 'get it done someday' folder and forget about it.

Well, I really want to get this damn album done, so I went over Saturday night to my buddy Dustin Duffy's house and we recorded it in only a couple of hours.  I was pretty nervous, I never sang a song of my own or recorded, or screamed for that matter, but it came out better than I had ever thought it would.  Thanks Dustin!

I hope to have all of "Feels Like 0" finished by December 22nd.  Then it will be mastered by Dustin and shipped off.  I hope to get about 200 copies made to start off with.  I'm pushing for a Feb 1st 2008 release date.  Check out the new album art for it in the update site area.  Thanks for reading!

DJ.SkagNetti in the midst of upheaval

or..  life riots on my peaceful kingdom

I live in a great house.  It's huge.  Bet you wish you lived in my gigantic house.  Well, sorry, but that's not going to happen...  I never realized how big this house was until I began my search for a new place to live.  I lived here for almost 4 years.  I love my house.  I don't want to fucking move.  It's freezing cold in the winter and boiling hot in the summer, but it's home.  Home to enormous gas bills, ginormous you may even say.  I can't afford to live here anymore.  I wasn't ready to admit it though.  My brother kind of forced me into this ordeal.

He lost his job and had like an epiphany or something.  It came to him, a blast of white light, and a deep booming voice told him: "go to wyoming... and work at a ski lodge...."  Which is fine and dandy, he's been talking about getting out of the state for a couple years.  But he gave me a month and a half notice (at most), and I've been running around trying to find a place to live for the last few weeks.  It was hell, places suck, and they have to be close because I still haven't rectified my license problem.  A lot were ghetto as hell, shit falling apart, stuff rotting, or places with 900+ of supposed square feet where 300 of that is hallway.  wtf?  Uptown is supposed to be a nice area.

Well I think I may have found a place now, it's really nice.  Waiting on application to go through.  I'm moving in with a girl whom I work with.  She's super cool, I think we will have a lot of fun there.

Got me some insurance, going to the dentist soon.  Gonna get a loan to pay off bills and stuff holding my license at bay, gonna go back to school for web design.  Gonna make a billion dollars.

Quit Restraining Hollywood.  It was fun while it lasted.

A guy puked in the trashcan next to the toilet in the bathroom, and he said to me, 'just so you know, I puked in the trashcan in the bathroom.  but i rolled up the bag it was in... i'm sorry.'  and I said, 'why didn't you just puke in the toilet?'  and he says, 'well it was one of those things where you just couldn't make it, look it was in a bag, it wasn't that big of a deal, I rolled up the bag...' and the motherfucker gets mad at me.  Listen, you don't have the right to puke in some dude's trashcan that's located 2 fucking feet away from the toilet, and then when he gets a bit angered by what You just fucking did, you get angry.  That's not how it works.  Then on top of that you don't tell me that you fucking rolled up the bag - that doesn't do shit for me, you could've made a puke balloon animal out the fucking bag, it doesn't make me an ounce less angry about this situation.  Why didn't you take it out and throw it away and put in a new bag if it wasn't such a big deal??  Then he said, angrily, 'look I said I was sorry' and walked away.  I wish I could end this story with a fantastic brawl of epic proportions involving switchblades and ripped t-shirts, but the cocksucker was too fast, gone in a flash, haven't seen him since.  I was left standing there thinking, 'what the fuck is wrong with people these days?'  Everyone thinks he's the most hardcore ninja ever.  They fuck you over and then when you get mad about it, they get even more mad and ready to fight back with whatever they have.  Where are we learning this bullshit?  What is it - rap music?  I don't think it is.  TV?  maybe - Nobody takes responsibility for their own actions, it's always somebody else's fault.  Anyways, what a dick.

Woke up an hour and a half late today, tried calling in but my phone was disconnected.  Had to run to work, got yelled at by my boss and then I had to work up the balls to ask him for the money to get my shit turned back on.  Luckily he agreed and my friend Dustin gave me a ride and I got it paid off.  Quite the hellish day.

It's so cold right now.

Been working on all kinds of music, got Reason 3.0, and a bunch of refills, and been playing around with it.

I don't know where I'm at, I want to become more entertaining, I want to quit smoking.

Life is great though, many opportunities coming up, many new experiences, it all seems to come piling on at once, never a smooth transition, but it makes it exciting.  I can't wait to see what the future unfolds - heartache?  pain?  happiness?  relief?  It can only go downhill from here, smooth sailing.

Thanks for reading...

DJ.SkagNetti had a lot of time to think about things

or..  did I take a wrong turn someplace in life?

Hey, what's up everybody?  I made a new site =).  Like it?  Didn't think so...

Well, let's see.  The post below this one I must of written March or April 06.  We have indeed released "People Talk".  Buy it**.  For the love of all that is holy.  Please buy it**.  It's only 10 dollars....  Christopher McGuire didn't do the music as stated below, but he helped out in other ways.  We had the release party** August 25th, 2006, and more parties after that.  We released the DVD** just in time to not make Christmas.  What a hellish 2 years it's been.  Setbacks, people bailing on us, not knowing what we're doing.... I guess we learned a lot.  Still had great music though!  40 songs by local musicians**!  That's a lot of songs!  It's like a big music video, ranging from Classical to Hip Hop to Electronica to Indie to Hardcore, it's all over the place.  I'm pretty good with Final Cut now.  A lot better than I was.  We made a second trailer too, and both are on the DVD, with Behind the Scenes, Outtakes, and Commentary from the director and yours truely.  The trailers** are on the RH website too.

Our next movie's script is almost finished.  It's called "Trust Me"** and we're starting to film it May 12th.  (Edit 2013:  all ** indicate links that are now dead because the website has since gone through big changes.)

We have, since last year, made several music videos and live performance tapes, for bands like LIKEHELL, No Loving Place, Faux Jean and First Communion Afterparty from Faux Jean's CD release show, In This Moment when they came to town, Day Kit, Parts For All Makes, Choplogic, Golden, Kill-Me Karebare, and more.  We also filmed comedian Doug Stanhope April 14th, I love that guy.  One of the funniest guys out there, you should check him out.  We are filming American Headcharge on May 5th at First Avenue.  Check them out they are one of the best bands to come out of Minnesota!

Still freakin working on that Traitor of the 9 Moons.  But the version I have now compared to the version I had 3 years ago when I started is completely and utterly a bit better than before...  Still gonna be 2 disks.  I dunno, it's just missing something I guess.  I don't want to be too much like Aphex Twin, which I'm nowhere as close to as good as he is, but I don't want it to be straight techno crap either.  I just want it to be interesting.  People I have shown it too like it.  I made a new picture for it.  I dunno if I want it to be the cover or if I want something else.  I might release it this year.  I might release it next year.  I don't know what I'm doing.  (Edit 2013:  Released it 7 years later lol.)

Got so much music, leftovers and silly things I've made, I decided to release an EP first.  Called "Feels Like 0", I got the idea for the title from the weather...  God, I'm Innovative!  It's got some strange stuff so far...  I really want to make a music video for the whole thing.  I got some great ideas.  Maybe I'll make one smaller music video first.  Music videos are fun to make! (Edit 2013:  Never made them lol.)

Stuck working at a gas station to make ends meet.  My car is all but destroyed, laying in mourning in my back driveway.  It's only like 4 or 5 little things wrong with it.  I could get it fixed, but I have a suspended license.  So what's the point?  I need to make like $1700, which I know isn't too horribly much, but still I don't really have it laying around either, and I seem to be born with a inability to save money.  I dunno, I got a second helping of sarcasm and cynicism, and left the 'good with money' plate alone.  But life's not too bad.  Life is good, some would say.  I wouldn't, but I'd say it's not too bad.  Man I miss my car.  It was an ugly prelude stick, a little rusty, but it always started and always was fun to drive.  I think there's birds living in it now.  At least I help the local wildlife..... (Edit 2013:  Car was destroyed, had it towed away for scrap.  Finally paid off my fines at the beginning of 2013, have a license and a different car now.  Things are looking up!)

If you think making a movie will get you fame and fortune and hundreds of girls fawning over you, think again.  We are Still searching for distribution, all the money we've made has to be sunk into the next film, and.. well, I lied... I got hundreds of girls fawning over me, but it's really hard to pick!

Dustin Duffey of Apis Records, whom I work with at the gas station, will be producing my albums, I hope.  He's a great guy and plays well with others.  (Edit 2013:  He mastered both "Feels Like 0" and "Please Insert Me"  Thanks Dustin!)

According to my horoscope I should be getting some good luck coming up here, but only if I work hard at it.  So I redid this site completely.  And my graphic design site.  Yes, I have a lot of time on my hands.

Hey, if you want to pay me to do something for you, I'll gladly accept money!

I know these things I write make me sound like I'm crazy, but a friendly ghost of a pig named Lincoln told me not to worry.

So here I am.  What else?  What don't you know about me?  Live in Minnesota.  Too Cold!  Everyone here complains too much (i know this whole blog has been complaining - haha, the irony....)  And everyone stares at you as you walk down the street.  Am I that good looking?  I would like to transplant all of Minneapolis Uptown into Compton, LA, for 1 day.  Or maybe New York.  I think people would be a lot less inclined to stare at you like your head was bleeding some black ochre out of all of your orifices after that.  Can I please teach the world, dad?  Please??

Man, I don't do much.  I played Anarchy Online for about 4 years.  I always told myself never to get Everquest, because I'd be playing it 24/7 and I'd ruin my life.  So my friend gets me hooked on Anarchy Online....  Then he quits, I keep going.  For 4 years....  My internet was shut off for 3 months, so I was jonesing at first, but now I don't even want to play it anymore, even with the net back up.  I had some great times, Great times playing, but I'm sick of it, finally.

I wrote a country song that hopefully I'll be recording soon.  I personally dislike country, but it's in the same vein as "Every Rose Has It's Thorn", with a little "November Rain" mixed in.  I know "November Rain" isn't country, but it's got a little bit of it in it....  Kind of a joke song, hopefully it turns out.

Met some great people on MySpace.  Bath Aide is from Duluth, he sounds a Lot like Aphex Twin.  He sent me his album for free.  That was nice of him.

I had a Jucy Lucy today.  I know that's not how you spell Juicy, but that's how they spell it.  Its a giant hamburger that's injected with cheese, with grilled onions on top.  Man it was good.  I may of lowered my life expectancy by 3 years, but it was well worth it.

Been watching a lot of Adult Swim, even though I've seen all the shows they play a 1000 times.  Love Family Guy!  Love it!

MC Chris is one of my heroes.  What a great guy, with great talent.  I'm glad his career took off!  All through self promotion and the demand from rabid fans.  I wish I could have half the luck he's had with my music.  Electronica is a hard act to swallow though.  If it doesn't have a guitar or singing in it, people tend to drift off and think about something else, and not pay attention to the song.  It's kind of a sad paradigm.  But I love creating stuff.  Always have.  From drawing to music to movies to writing, I will always be a creator.  Hopefully one day it will pay off, but I don't even care, I just hope somebody, anybody appreciates what I do.  Life is difficult without money, but even more difficult without appreciation....

DJ Skagnetti dun been busy

or..  wtf is hater gear?

I have been extremely busy, I havent updated this site in ages, but I'm still around, don't worry =)  Not that you were worrying, but whatever.

Well first things first:  Restraining Hollywood.  Yup.  People Talk is almost completed!  We're hoping for a late June/early July release.  Heres a list of stuff that I've done for this movie:

Came Up with the Idea

Helped Write It

Helped Direct (hardly)

Acted In It (i'm the funny lookin one)

Made Music For the Main Movie, and also Behind the Scenes

Editing

The movie is a very funny movie and we've had wonderful responses.  Its about a guy and its his birthday, and he's trying to throw a party for himself.  A ton of bad events ensue, and its really funny to watch it unfold.  Crazy characters and Great Music.

Our release party will be awesome, and we are hopefully having one of the biggest bands to come out of Minnesota headline.  Music is coming along great, we've got music from Golden, JaRed Chapter, Me, Harp and Finial, Fort Wilson Riot, The Bullets, Faux Jean, and more music put together by the legendary Christopher McGuire.  We are going to have about 6 showing parties over the summer of 2006.

I also made the website for Restraining Hollywood, and have regularly been updating it.  (Edit 2013:   This is no longer the case.)

I learned how to edit in Final Cut Pro, which is suprisingly much like Acid Pro in that the timelines and editing of clips are very similar.  Me and Ben Lewis and Brandon VanVliet edited the first Trailer to it, which can be seen on the website.  We also set up a Myspace Page for Restraining Hollywood, too.

Which leads me to My Myspace pages.  I've got 2 atm:

Profile

Music

There i pay much homage to one of my favorite musicians Ever, APHEX TWIN.  the man is just a frickin Genius.  The first time i saw Windowlicker, i almost crapped myself.  Thats a great feeling when you are about to crap yourself and you catch it at the last second, for the win!  but i digress...

I have been working on f'n Traitor of the 9 Moons for about 50 years now, I keep finding new stuff to put into it, and take out of it.  Its up to about 140 minutes hahaha, so I actually have to quit adding stuff and start taking stuff away.  I dont think i can even burn it anymore, its too big, what a monster!  Anyways thats pretty much over with now.

Such-A-Sum Records, I dont know whats going on with them.  They must not like my music, so I'm gonna have to release it myself.  I should never have put that they were going to produce my album before they actually did, it just seemed so perfect, and I was so happy that they wanted me.  But things change, and I love those guys, and the bands on that label, but I don't think they are gonna make my album.  thats kewl, its hard to swallow stuff, i'll go someplace else.  Love to those guys forever and good luck.

I havent played any shows in the last year haha.  I would love to, but its hard for electronica acts in the city to find a home.  I dont mind, I'll play if somebody wants me, if not I'm content with hiding for the time being.

Added a flash player to a couple pages, it has all the songs from all the albums.  Put a picture making thingy and made a neat pic button link thingy for tot9m.

I used to work at deja vu minneapolis.  Its a strip club.  I dont work there anymore cause i got fired.  I hit a mexican in a toyota.  fired on the spot and almost arrested.  was a bad day for me.

Finally found a job really close to my house cause i cant drive cause my license is suspended until i pay off a crapload of fines.  had no money to pay the driving after suspension tickets so there's probably a warrant out for my arrest.  my passenger side window got smashed out cause some crackhead wanted my bag of videos from the backseat.  What the fuck you gonna do with a bag full of videos, sell them?  you'll get like 4 dollars for those 10 movies, motherfucker.  Then my clutch line got air in it and the clutch pedal goes all the way to the floor and doesnt come back up.  Then i tried locking the door and shutting it by lifting up on the handle and the thing bent in on the frame where it latches the door.  so now the door barely shuts and doesnt stay shut.  then my i set my cell phone down and picked it up 2 hours later and the display had fried.  just doesnt work anymore though the phone still works.  wonderful.  and dont get me started on other money problems.  and i need to go to the dentist cause this one back tooth is killing me, and i may get audited by the irs cause im a retard when it comes to income taxes.  well not usually, but i was in 93 and 94.

I have had some good things happen to me.  but nothing to write home about.

Anyways I have been making a ton of music.  I made a 28 minute song called Grape Minds Taste Alike.  Theres about 30 or 40 songs on Traitor of the 9 Moons.  and above that i've made about 20 more songs.

Google DJ Skagnetti - yes i do this every once in a while.  I wonder if other bands do it too?

I started a cafe press site with Hater Gear ( ie, stuff that says Hater)  nobodys buying it.  (Edit 2013:  That site has been open for years and not a single person has bought anything from it.  My Zazzle stores, on the other hand, are doing exceptionally well!)

Anyways:  Movies, Website and Music Makin, and Debt.  Thats the 4 things in my life right now.

DJ Skagnetti On Restraining Hollywood and In a Band Name Game!

or..  you googled your own name?

I am now a part of Restraining Hollywood.  A great bunch of peeps in Minneapolis, I will be making music for their movies.  I will also act and co-write and co-direct in their next movie, People Talk, which we will start filming next week (june 14th-ish).  I added a Quicklist with a list of all my songs for easy access baby.  I added songs to the Traitor of the 9 Moons update site, and added the story that will hopefully go into the cd sleeve.  I also googled my own name cause im like that, and it turns out somebody used my song NeoTokyo in a band name game.  They take the last letter of a song title and in the next post the song title has to start with that letter.  So if the last post was "ketchup" by melt banana, i would choose "push the little daisies" by ween.  So i tried to join the forum community so i could thank that guy for this great honor, but my application was denied!  so screw below top secret conspiracy forums.  ive seen better conspiracies inside bazooka joe bubblegum wrappers.

but i couldnt resist and recorded it for posterity |here|  (Edit 2013:  I used to have some weird copy and paste job of their html in the window that opens, I guess I didn't know how to take screen shots back then.  The cool news is is that I now know that this happened in 2005.  Anyways, I've taken a screen shot now, ain't nobody got time for copy pasta html from a shitty forum board from 2005)

DJ Skagnetti Played His 3rd Show at a Bar!

or..  where is that music coming from?

Played with Seldom Seen, Fort Wilson Riot, Mark of the Underdogs, and Harp and Finial at the Such-A-Sum launch and CD Release Party!  Mark of the Underdogs and Harp and Finial released their cds unto the masses, and both albums are hawt hawt hawt!  I played in between band sets, 19 minutes, 21 minutes and 20 minutes.  There was a nasty blizzard outside, but we endured and had a lot of fun!  thanks all for showing up!  DJ Primal, sorry i missed your buddies show that following wednesday =(

DJ Skagnetti Played His First Show at a Bar!

or..  is the guy with the computer on stage looking at porn?

Thursday February 3rd.  Uptown Bar.  Billed as C.J. Skagnetti (computer jockey) so as to not confuse the locals into thinking a guy who actually spins records (thats so 90s...) was getting on stage.  I played with Iced Ink and The Panty Huffers.  The sound guy was really cool and made me sound really good.  I started at 9:30 pm and played for 44 minutes and 44.281 seconds.  I was so nervous all day that i didnt eat a thing.  Damon Kalor of the Panty Huffers got me the gig, because 2 bands cancelled on the owner of the bar (Thanks Damon).  It went flawless, but i didnt hear anything from anyone other than my friends, who offered much praise (thanks!), about my performance.  So i dont know if they hated me or not.  Well they didnt lynch me, and i got paid (my first show profit!), so i couldnt have been that bad.  I am playing next at the Harp and Finial cd release show in March.  come and see me play it and buy a Harp and Finial cd.  It will be a great show! ("Thanks to Panty Huffers and Computer Guy!")

DJ Skagnetti Made a Movie!

or..  whats that around your neck, birthday boy?

i wrote up a concept for a movie, and have been working very closely with Brandon VanVleit  again with his movie company Restraining Hollywood and Ben Louis, a friend of mine, to get everything set up.  We have the basic premise done and are starting the script and storyboards soon, and hope to start filming in february.  im very happy with the way its turning out so far, and i think it will really be a great movie!  i will be making music for it again.  this job rocks!  thanks all =)

DJ Skagnetti got signed! (note:  this is old news and did not happen)

or..  wtf just happened?

Such-A-Sum records has signed me on.  The new album should be done within the next couple months.  Very special thanks to Such-A-Sum records for having faith in me=)  (Edit 2013:  This never came to fruition)

DJ Skagnetti played his first show!

or..  How one man made 300 go deaf with pure bliss

yes its true!  i played my first show on halloween.  it was for the movie Up North by Brandon VanVleit.  they actually ended up using a lot more of my music then i had previously had thought previously.  i made about 20 songs i guess in all specifically for the movie, some like background noise and some sad and some spooky and some that just turned out better than i had ever imagined they would.  gawd damn i am a musical genius!  not really, anyways, the show was great, there were some great bands, then we watched the premiere of the movie, and then more great bands, and then i played a 42 minute set at 2 am.  i cant say it went terrific, but im just happy i got to play my music for those lucky 7 people.  i guess i may play next at a cd release show.  just a guy in the middle of the stage, with his computer, songs meticulously crafted, who presses play.

DJ Skagnetti was propositioned for music!

Brandon VanVliet throws a dj a bone!

A DJ at where i work, Brandon VanVleit, decided to make a movie production company.  He needed music and asked me to create some, so i did, about 20 songs all together.  i would just like to thank Brandon now for using my music, and im very happy the way it turned out.  Congratz on the great flick dude!

DJ Skagnetti mastered his songs!

Now I am the Master....

i have mastered Ancient Teachings and Skagnetti on Skagnetti.  i have also edited them and added to/altered them in ways no man had thought possible....

Ancient Teachings was my first time ever mastering so it might not be that great, but better than it was, and it doesnt sound bad by any means, just a little too...punchy, i guess, but anyways, ill probably go back and tone it down a notch n shit but when i have time...  my favorites:  the hot karl song, and the office space song, and dangerous is dangerous!

Skag on Skag was easier for me, and while i was at it i cut some of the songs a bit cause some of them were veeeery repetitive (more than usual, that is..)  it sounds 10 billion kajillion times better than it did before, and i gotta hand it to myself, Good Enough is one of my best songs ever.  it totally beat matches at the end now, its so... good... it hurts... and The Eclipse melts my mind every time i put the headphones on...

i also mastered this page's music.  (Edit 2013:  There used to be music playing on the page back then, 2003ish?)
