We made everything on the
fly, all live. Well, I made beats the night before in
Reason, sent them to Dustin, and he loaded them into his
Khaos Pad. Everything else, though, we made up as we
went. I would start out with playing a beat, then we
would slowly bring things in, usually sampling things,
cutting out bits and pieces and making it what we wanted,
then adding more stuff to it. And just keep going and
going. Sometimes it didn't work, most of the time it
was awesome. Evan is really good at freestyling, I
could never do what he does myself. Dustin plays bass,
guitar, keyboards usually and I sample them and play
keyboards as well. The only unfortunate thing is that
the sound was kind of blown out most of the time.
Hopefully one day we can continue to do this, it was great
brain exercise and a lot of fun experimenting with different
sounds. You really don't know what you can do until
you try everything =)
