Weapons: Each officer in the game now has a fifth weapon that
can only be found in Expert difficulty. With fifth weapons a new
element, Wind, is also introduced (according to muni shinobu's faq,
it's only the 7 Other characters who have a 5th weapon, ie the 'New'
Characters above.)

Items are items with attributes that break the usual maximum limit
of items. So far, the maximum break limit amount seems to be x1.25
times.

Challenge Modes: 4 new challenge modes have been added to the
game. These are:

Downhill - At Ding Jun Mountain, race from the hill top to the
bottom in the shortest time

Shooting Star - At He Fei New Castle, on the single bridge, knock as
many enemies off as you can in the 10 minute time limit

Combination - create more elaborate Combo attacks to get high
points within the 3 minute time limit

Triathlon - play the above 3 challenges continually to get high
points

of a stage your combo performance is new evaluated. Doing well
impacts the quality of items dropped.

New Bodyguard Options:
-You may now alter their appearance (normal male, normal female,
Nanman male, Nanman female, Yellow Turbans)
-Bodyguard colors are added as Moushouden characters clear
Moushouden Musou Modes.
Diao
Chan unlocks Pink Color.

-There are two new commands; Support (attacks archers first) and

-There are now 12 different weapon options and five different
strength levels (which they develop into) that come with new
abilities.
-In one player Musou mode you may now choose to have an officer
serve as your bodyguard (instead of the generic group). You may not
equip them with weapons, but you may do a joint musou attack with
them every 100 kills.

Features:
- You may now reset officer stats individually.
- Stage
Name Wind Flow Speed: After the battle preparation is
finished, the stage will start loading. During the loading, there is
a black screen with text of the stage name at the bottom right
corner of the TV screen with wind passing through the words. Press
Circle repeatedly to increase the speed of the wind passing through
the words. Hold any of the buttons to decrease the speed of the wind
passing through the words.
- You can import your Dynasty Warriors 3 game.
-
After you clear one character from one kingdom in Musou Mode, all
the characters of that kingdom will be able to change their costume
color. At the Character Select Screen, press L2 or R2 to change
colors.

Special Stage and Special Lu Bu: There is a way to unlock a
silver armored Lu Bu, the character design from Sangokushi Senki,
another Koei Three Kingdoms game. The music of the stage will also
be from Sangokushi
Senki. After you clear the stage (presumably by
defeating Lu Bu), you can select Special Lu Bu and access the
Special Stage any time. After you clear the stage with Special
Lu Bu, Lu Bu's 3rd costume will be added in the Character Select
screen when you press L2 or R2.
- Like
Lu Bu, Sun Shang Xiang also has a hidden costume which is from
Sangokushi Senki.

Seven of the lead characters now have a fifth weapon to choose from
and can transfer those items to the regular version of Dynasty
Warriors 3 through the memory card. Allowing for cross-game
compatibility between the two titles, you can also utilize Xtreme
Legends' "very hard" option in the original DW3 for an extra
difficulty challenge, and the edited bodyguard information as well.

Alternate Rare Ending Sequence: For each of the characters,
there is an alternate rare ending sequence which is more humorous
than the regular ending sequence, at the end of which is a
congratulatory fireworks display to congratulate the player, a
fireworks display which is not shown in regular ending
sequences.
There are 2
requirements to access these:
1}
each character must first have another character already complete
musou mode. For example, in order to trigger Meng Huo's
alternate rare ending, Zhu Rong must have already cleared Musou
Mode.
2} the
last level of each characters musou mode must be completed in under
15 minutes. In other words, to trigger Meng Huo's alternate
rare ending, you must first have cleared Musou Mode with
Zhu Rong, then during
Meng Huo's 7th final
Musou stage (Ru Nan), clear the stage in under 15 minutes. After
those elements are fulfilled, Meng Huo's Alternate Rare Ending
Sequence will be shown in the place of the regular ending sequence.
